The knitted outfits exhibited have been produced by members of the Netmaskerne knitting guild. With exquisite grades of wool and surprising colour combinations, the 25 exhibitors have reinterpreted the artistic style and fashions of the Renaissance. The exhibition also includes the artists' own documentation of their working processes from concept to completed work.
Several of the exhibited outfits have been inspired by the portrait art of the Renaissance period, and some of the sources of this inspiration can also be seen here at the museum.
Together with Steen Lundbye, head of cultural heritage at Koldingshus, the two knitting experts Lone Bullinger and Iben Høj have judged and selected the outfits showcased in the exhibition. The exhibits have been kindly provided by Netmaskerne and Koldinghus Museum.
This exhibition runs until 11 June 2017
